I am available.” Despite my Christian upbringing, I hadn’t yet spoken those words to the Lord—until I turned 50, about fifteen years ago. I had already experienced significant spiritual growth: I’d been baptized by immersion and received the baptism of the Holy Spirit. But I had never voiced to the Lord that I was truly available to Him.
When I did, on my 50th birthday, invitations began to come in—from Austria. And that’s exactly where my heart was, and still is.
I received a word from the Lord: “Austria loves God and needs young leaders.”
We made a bold decision: “Let’s do campground evangelism with Bibellesebund at Lake Ossiach.” For the first time, we took a family caravan holiday. It turned out to be an amazing and blessed time. We met many people and started building networks in Austria.
After that holiday, I returned several times—for various (youth) gatherings and trainings, often with my two sons. Each time I traveled to Austria for the Lord, I felt His presence. Encounters arose spontaneously, and I’ve learned to slow down and not over-plan. What a blessing it has been!
