Fluister? What does that mean?

Fluister? Wat wil dat zeggen?

Our first full edition is now in your hands! Perhaps you’ve already glanced at our mini-edition over the past few months, or scrolled through our website or social media. But maybe this is the first time you’re hearing about Fluister. You might be wondering: What is Fluister? What can you expect as a reader or partner of this publication (or perhaps even more than that)? And… why is Fluister a voice worth letting be heard?

To answer these questions, we sat down with Wim Kamphorst, founder of Fluister, and asked him a few key questions.

From what desire did Fluister arise?

My life was changed because I heard God's voice and chose to follow Him in what He was saying to me. Since then, His voice has been the guiding thread in my life. And He doesn’t just speak to me for myself—but also for others. In short: I live by and for His voice!

My journey in this area wasn’t easy it was lonely and filled with doubt. There weren’t many people who believed that God still speaks today, or thought He only does so in rare cases.

To help others (and each other) on the journey of discovering how to hear God’s voice, I launched Fluister.

What is the goal of Fluister?

My desire is that Fluister becomes a space where people can grow in faith and learn to recognize God’s voice. We want to be a rich source of knowledge and experience for those who are hungry and thirsty for God and His living words. A safe place to practice and grow learning together to listen for His whispers, from the conviction that He speaks.

In what ways will Fluister be active?

We aim to develop materials that inform, activate, and encourage people to recognize God’s voice. Our plan includes publishing a magazine two to three times a year, filled with:

  • Solid Bible studies

  • Real-life stories

  • Inspiring testimonies

  • And much more

Beyond the magazine, we also intend to write books, offer an online platform, and host gatherings such as trainings and conferences—creating space to meet one another and practically grow in hearing His voice.

Who are the faces behind ‘Fluister’?

A small core team stands at the foundation of the Fluister magazine. But we deeply value partnership collaboration with churches, organizations, and individuals who share the desire to hear and live by what God speaks.

Together, we hope to build a culture in the Netherlands where recognizing God's voice becomes part of everyday life, as His children. A diverse group of people and churches, united by the same longing: To hear His voice together and to let it be heard, across denominational boundaries.
