Looking for a job?

testimony

Zoek je een baan?

Henriëtte: I was just chatting with two friends, talking about all kinds of things. Amid the background noise, I heard these words in my thoughts: “Are you looking for a job?” At first, I ignored them—after all, I already had a job.*

I knew that one friend was ill, but I wasn’t sure about the other. A little while later, I heard the same words again. Again, I didn’t act on them. Until I heard them for a third time. That’s when I spoke up: “You both need to stop chattering for a second because… are you looking for a job?” I asked the friend whose situation I wasn’t quite sure about.

There was a moment of silence, and I asked again: “Are you looking for a job?” “Uhh… actually, yes,” she replied. Immediately I thought of the vacancy at the company where I worked. She said it was exactly what she was looking for. After that, the chatting simply continued as if nothing had happened.

But a few days later, I ran into that friend, and she told me she got the job! As far as I know, she’s still working there to this day.
